Subject: Annual Picnic & Raffle

1. The Post is gearing up for its annual Veterans Day Picnic & Raffle, which will be held on 11 November 2008. Primary purpose of this event is to honor our fallen comrades and recognize all Veterans who answered our country’s call to service. Funds generated go a long way towards supporting our Post projects and community activities throughout the year.

2. The following represents programs/projects we will be supporting through June 2009:

Program/Project Approximate Cost

A. Maintenance of the Clark AB Cemetery $12,000.00

B. Cleft lip/palate operations for local children $12,000.00

C. Emergency relief to members in distress $ 2,000.00

D. Support to local community i.e., Malabanias Elementary $ 5,000.00

School , Ministry to the Military church, Street Children,

and other projects.

E. Scholarship Programs $ 3,000.00

3. This letter is being sent to over 1500 members in hopes that each member will purchase at least one book (more if you can afford it). Each book costs $10.00 or Peso 500.00. Checks can be made payable to VFW Post 2485 and sent to the undersigned at PSC 517 Box R CV, FPO AP 96517-1000. For our out of country members, ticket numbers will be assigned by the raffle committee and sent to you return mail/e-mail. Prizes total P50,000.00. You do not have to be present to win cash prizes.

4. Individuals purchasing 10 raffle books or more will have their names placed on our Donor Honor Roll, which will be permanently displayed in the Post Home through the entire year. Your support in making this a successful raffle is sincerely appreciated.
