 Wayne Robert Gesellschap

Wayne Robert Gesellschap died on July 20, 2010 in Olongapo City, RP.  He died of a heart attack at the age of 52.  He was married and lived with his wife and brother in Barrio Baretto, Olongapo City.  Mr. Gesellschap entered the Navy on Sept 3,1975 at St Louis, MO.  He left the Navy 4 years later as a AW2 (E-5) and joined the Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance officer.  He served 13 years in the Air Force and separated as a Capt (O-3) in Sept 1992.  He served 2 years in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm and received a Bronze Star Medal.  He will be buried at Clark Cemetery on Tuesday July 27, 2010 at 10am.  A graveside service will be provided by VFW Post 11447.  Bugle service will be provided by VFW Post 2485.
   
William "Stogie Bill" Prokopf

William Prokopf died in Angeles City on July 26, 2010 at the age of 69 due to heart failure.  Mr. Prokopf lived in Hensonville Homes, AC, with his wife, Josefa.  He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2485.  He was also a veteran of the U.S Air Force and retired as a SMSGT (E-8) after almost 28 years of service including a tour of duty in Vietnam.  He entered active duty in New York City, NY.  Burial will be at Clark Cemetery on Thursday, July 29 at 10am.  Graveside service will be conducted by Post 2485.
   
 Albert Mitchell

Albert Mitchell, 70, was murdered in his home in Hensonville Court, Angeles City on July 22, 2010 along with his wife Janet, 53, and three household workers.  Al and his wife are survived by a married daughter, Czarina, and twin grandchildren.  A suspect has been identified and arrested by police.  Al was a retired USAF Master Sergeant and lived in the Angeles City area for more than 25 years. He was a life member of VFW Post 2485 and Pup Tent 15 and was VFW 2485 Commander (2004-2006) and Pup Tent 15 Seam Squirrel (2002-2003). He was also the Department of Pacific Areas (DPA) Grand Commander for a short period (2009-2010) and the DPA District VII Commander (2006-2007).  Al was a member of the Leonard Wood Masonic Lodge #105, the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and the American Legion.  He will be laid to rest at Clark Cemetery on Friday July 30, 2010 at 10:00am. A combined graveside service will be provided by both VFW Post 2485 and Masonic Lodge #105.
   
 Vietnam War Observance Day

The Angeles City Chapter of the Australian Returned and Service League (RSL) will hold their annual Vietnam War Observance Day ceremony on August 18 at 11am at the Clark Cemetery.
